Gun Control, NOW!
After the most recent atrocity at Virginia Tech, I felt compelled to get the message out that it is time to get serious about gun control. Almost every other major country in the world has outlawed hand guns. The NRA is a powerful lobby group here in the USA protecting our rights to own guns, but where is the protection for the innocent students who are getting gunned down in our schools and colleges?
I’m sorry, but gun control is not the way to go.
Students with concealed handgun licenses were prohibited from carrying on the campus.
If they had been permitted to carry their weapons in self-defense, this tragedy could have been averted.
Gun control will not prevent criminals or psychos from getting guns. It will only prevent law-abiding citizens from defending themselves.
Look into the 1991 massacre in Killeen, Texas. A guy drove his pick-up truck through the front of the restaurant and shot and killed 23 people. In response, four years later, the state of Texas authorized the Concealed Handgun License to allow people to carry a handgun, concealed on their person for self-protection.
These people and many, many more could not defend themselves and were slaughtered. Look at Russia, China, Korea, Germany during World War II or any of the other numerous gun control policies that took hold in South America.
People were unable to defend themselves and were slaughtered by the millions by the government!
Gun control does not work.
I am sure you have your reason, and I am not sorry to have my own opinion.
First, if we had gun control legislation, the tragedy and massacre wouldn’t even happen. May be you might want to think differently.
I came from a country that has gun control, we never have tragedy like that. When nobody can get a gun, how could the tragedy happen? We are just human, we could be emotional and sometimes lost our mind, so it is very dangerous if we could easily get a gun.
Funny that you mentioned World War II, you might be right if it is war era, but obviously we are not in world war II now.
